Ziggy's (and Alvin's) Home Page
In January 2001 two new furry friends joined our household. Brother and sister, a bit less than a year old, through misfortune they found themselves in need of a new home. Cats Protection came to the rescue, and when I visited the refuge at Bracklesham these two were practically hanging on to the enclosure fence yelling "Us! Choose us!!" Who could be so hard-hearted as to turn them down?

This was the beginning of the story. Ziggy and Alvin seemed to be settling in happily, especially once they were allowed out into the garden, and then began to explore the fields beyond.
But then, near the end of March, Alvin disappeared. At first we feared something dreadful must have happened to him. We searched. We thought we might have caught glimpses of him, but there are several sleek black cats around here, and we couldn't be sure.
Then we started to remember things. And, there's no getting away from it, Ziggy used to bully Alvin. She was really rather horrid to him. And we now suspect that he simply decided he didn't want to spend the rest of his life being pushed around by his sister, and set off, a small furry Whittington, to seek his fortune in the world.
We hope he found himself a good home.
Ziggy is now undisputed queen of the house.
